Brand Identity Refresh

Buffalo Distilling Co.

Buffalo Distilling Company was founded in 2012 by a trio of partners who began experimenting with distilling after they had acquired a family heirloom — a small pot still. The flagship product line One Foot Cock (another tale for another day) was made and quickly became a local fan favorite. The barn that they worked from became too small to keep production going, so the distillery was moved to downtown Buffalo in 2016. The new spot has allowed for triple production and a beautiful bar for tastings and events.

Honoring the next step for the company, The BDC logo was refined and handpainted on the newly renovated building. OFC retained its original iconic 'one foot rooster' etching illustration, and was paired with handmade lettering to compliment the etching. A selection of bottles and packaging were picked along with textured paper and foils. The result is a sophisticated feel that alludes to the brand's lighthearted candor and grassroots origins. Along with identity, signage, and packaging updates, the partners updated their inventory of retail items, tees, business cards, and sales materials.
